Club Curry’s 1920’s Speakeasy Charity Event for Hope House of Kansas City
This summer Peacock Premier Events was brought to Kansas City Missouri to plan an event way too special not to share. The event was not only an experience unlike any other. It was an amazing production filled with fun, love, magic and support, along the most intricate glamorous details, but most importantly it was for an incredible cause. The Minerva Foundation brought Club Curry to Kansas City Missouri in efforts to raise money for Hope House; An amazing organization which supports those affected by domestic violence.
To really make each aspect of the event fit feel the theme. Guests walked down a sidewalk down in chalk art monopoly pieces, they entered Black on Burlington to the 1920’s great depression era where smog lightly billowed through the hallway, printed news articles were strewn on the brick walls, and hung from pipes from the great depression. There was a beggar on his guitar with the guitar case open on the ground playing music as guests continued down the hallway filled with crates, and barrels. Guests were given a signature great depression drink served in a brown paper bag to fit the theme before they entered into the Tickets and registration table made of barrels and a vintage door top, vintage stampers, typewriter, guests were stamped with a gold key on the back of their wrist to enter into the reception through a phone booth inside lights flickered and they were allowed entry once they answered a riddle by staff. They entered through the grand Club Curry door framed by ferns in gold pots, into an event so glam event Gatsby would have been impressed.
All staff was outfitted in twenties glam, the women in different flapper dresses and gowns, accessories and the men in suspenders top hats (adorned with peacock feathers which was their idea and almost made me cry, I loved it!). Crystal chandeliers were strewn above the two custom wrapped marble diamond print dance floors. The custom made mirrored dj booth had the Club Curry CC signature logo made of moss and twinkle lights with a gold metallic drape behind it to show off DJ Nick Aylers talents. Gorgeous black and gold bars and back bar shelf. A girl dazzled guests swinging above the two front bars on an actual swing.
The VIP area was designed with stunning vintage luxe lounge furniture, rugs, chairs, and gold side tables, accents like birdcages, typewriters, books all up against a huge moss wall displaying gold mirrors, gold frames with sponsors logos inside of them. A Mixture of Lounge Furniture, long royal tables, luxurious metallic linens, chameleon chairs, incredible floral arrangements spilling from gold and black vases spilling down the tables and one the most massive arrangement in the center of the room coming out of the top of the top, directly in the center of the room. A vintage movie projector, projected a black and white flickering slideshow on the metal doors at the back corner of the room with all of the sponsors logos continuously throughout the event.
For guests entertainment two sets of swing dancers performed each on their own dance floor simultaneously. A vintage wall with frames and 1920s themed props made the perfect photobooth. There was a custom built actual operational bank with club curry monopoly money for guests to be able to purchase club curry money and play black jack, craps, or poker on any of the gaming tables along with Club curry dice. We created an area on the balcony for the cigar roller and guests to sit and enjoy. The back bar had more mason jars and candles on shelves than I have ever seen it was magical. The custom drink was of course a Moscow Mule to go in the Club Curry favors which were copper mugs with the club curry logo on them displayed in a vintage china display cabinet.
Silent auction items, from luxury vacations, kansas city cheif’s signed football helmet etc. were auctioned off throughout the first half of the event. For the finale all the dancers gathered around and fired off confetti canons as our clients announced that they had exceeded their goal. They raised over $130,000 for Kansas City’s Hope House!!! We are incredibly proud of our clients and in awe of their amazing dedication along with the volunteers and board from Hope House and the warmth and love from the people in Kansas City!
